The purpose of the Colonel Roberts Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., is to support the objectives of The Tuskegee Airmen, Colonel Roberts was one of the first five graduates of the Tuskegee Pilot Training program to receive his pilot wings. He served as the first Black commander of the 99th Fighter Squadron and served in both WWII and the Korean War and briefly during the Vietnam War as a fighter pilot and commander. He retired from the U.S. Air Force at McClellan AFB in February 1968 after 27 years of active military service.
